Cronica.com.ar is the news portal of popular newspaper Crónica. It is seventh most visited news website in Argentina according to SimilarWeb (October 2018) and the 20th most popular website according to Alexa.
Although the site was created in 2002, it keeps the provocative style and aesthetics of the newspaper founded by Héctor Ricardo García in 1963 and of TV channel Crónica TV.
Like the rest of the media of the group, the news website focuses on breaking news, tabloids and sport news, with a large number of pictures and videos on its home page.

He was the owner of Canal 11 and of the popular publishing house Editorial Sarmiento in 1970. He was the creator of a unique journalistic style with a distinct aesthetics, which helped rank his media among the most popular in Argentina. In 2005 he spent seven months in prison for tax evasion. That same year, he sold newspaper Crónica and publishing house Editorial Sarmiento to Grupo Olmos. In 2011 he was tried for tax evasion and sold 51 % of Crónica TV to the same holding. He was acquitted a year later.
